Sushi Wa is THE spot we like to visit for AYCE sushi. I can't tell you how to get there since I'm always the passenger princess, but I'm sure your navigation can get you there. I can tell you that it's easy to access and parking is plentiful. The inside is dimly lit with cherry blossom and other Japanese decor. Seating is flexible to accommodate the size of your party with both booths, tables, and a hybrid combo of both. If you prefer, you could also choose to sit at the sushi bar. Service can be a hit or miss. Mostly it's been a hit, but when it's a miss, it's really a miss. But it usually is good, with all the servers working as a team by helping each other out with customers. At least 75% of the menu is available as AYCE, including appetizers, ramen bowls, and dessert. If you're starting to get full but still are wanting one more thing, you can ask for a half order for your last choice. Our go-to appetizers are gyoza, shrimp tempura, and the sweet potato stack. Sushi go-tos include, but are not limited to, Japanese lasagna, Timmy roll, tempura California roll, and smoked salmon sushi. My SIL likes to finish off his meal with a ramen bowl and that thing is huge! I honestly don't know how has room for it after all the sushi we've eaten. Favorite desserts are the mochi and the banana tempura with pistachio ice cream and a drizzle of chocolate sauce (yes, it sounds odd, but it works) We always make sure to stop in here every time we're in the area!
First let me highlight the best parts!! The service was great -- everyone is friendly and we were checked on multiple times throughout our meal. Decor is amazing and love the fairy lights outside. Super cute spot that knows about ambient lighting which gives it a classier late night approach. For the late night menu -- it's 35 for dinner all you can eat. The sashimi here is great but you only get to pick one per all you can eat otherwise it's al la carte. Some fun appetizers which included the deep fried soft shell crab and the Mexican that had tuna. But for the nigiri we ordered the Cajun albacore and seared tuna -- it was a little underwhelming. The quality wasn't as fresh as the sashimi. A lot of the rolls are also covered in honey mayo that smothers the rolls sometimes. Other reviews mentioned a late night happy hour but I guess it might've been revised as 35 is on the steeper end compared to other sushi spots with nicer cuts. Overall it was a great time though. Still fun trying.
First things first on giving credit where it is due for the reason for this review, Chef Mario, Chef Juan, night manager Liz and the taller gentlemen with glasses (sorry didn't catch your name). This place has been my wife's and I get away where the food/fish quality is exceptional and guest service is beyond elevated. From the moment we walk in till the end they serve each guest as if you're a family member with VIP service. The staff members go beyond arms reach to do their best to accommodate everyone's request. Pretty disappointed for the other reviewers and their ratings as they are hurting a hidden gem in Henderson. There is one lower review complaining it took longer to be seated or to get their food ordered, which I think in normal situations is valid however this place is an exception as each staff member dedicates their undivided attention to each guest and because of this the staff member wants to make sure you're well taken care of before going to the next table. So relax, enjoy the company you have at your table and look at the pretty designs in the restaurant. My wife and I personally like sitting at the sushi bar and have been to this location 3 times. Each time the taste is exceptional as the first time we went. Both Chef Mario and Juan are experts of fish quality and flavor profile. We put our trust in them to surprise us with something new and each time we are left shaking our heads with agreement and satisfaction! Coming from owning multiple businesses in service and sales industries, these guys got it down as the most critical aspect in the service industry is customer satisfaction. The restaurant manager really needs to be appreciated on the training and team collaboration. Well done and there's much more to say about each positive experience! Thanks guys for being you!
Our 2024 fav AYCA restaurant. This place is no where near where we live but it is totally worth the drive. Sashimi is super fresh, generous portion and great service! They got plenty of options for raw & cooked dishes. My mom doesn't like too much raw dishes so I will order rolls for her with slightly seared. In this case she can enjoy more variety of dishes. Keep the good work and we will be back next week!
Wow, wow, WOW!!!! Did I say WOW? This place is absolutely delicious and fantastic. It is all you can eat (YES- the ENTIRE menu) for $28.99 for adults. This is the best deal ever. Honestly hearing this deal made me a little nervous I was thinking maybe the sushi wouldn't be fresh or good and I was thinking the hibachi food wouldn't be good. But I was completely wrong. This food was absolutely delicious. You can order as much as you want. Collectively as a table we had steak hibachi, chicken hibachi, shrimp hibachi, chicken teriyaki, fried rice, shrimp Shumai, dumplings, lo mei, sushi rolls (shrimp tempura, sweet potato, A.C.C roll, & Philly roll.) & kani salad. My favorite was the sushi rolls, kani salad & steak hibachi. The service was great as well. My only small complaint would be that the fountain sodas tasted off, maybe the machine needs to be fixed I'm not sure but it was watered down and the sprite didn't taste like sprite it tasted like a mix of water & root beer.
Had a late lunch and remembered this place was nearby. Got seated and the service was good considering it was fairly busy. I ordered a Rainbow Roll and a Crunch roll and both were well made and tasted good. The interior is cute, light was a little low in the corner I was seated in that made it hard to see somewhat but otherwise it was a nice place.
This is our go to spot since it's open late. Today though we had lunch which I think was a first. Looks like all new staff since our last visit. Decor is nice and the love is right ayce for $29 for lunch. I love me rolls with no rice and they have 1 the bikini roll. Yumm! Also the fresh sashimi was delicious. We had yellowtail and salmon. Pork belly is another fav with calamari. The vibe was just a lil different that's why the 4 stars. We will be back though.
Outside was very inviting, then you walk in and it's so beautiful with open inviting seating then huge round booths to be more personable with your company. The decor was absolutely amazing from the blossom trees to the paintings everything was well thought out. Offering- All You Can Eat $29 adults / kids (ages 3-7) $15 for Lunch time til 3pm, then it goes into dinner prices $35 adults and $17 for kids. They also have lunch specials that offer bento boxes, ramen, poke bowls and sushi combos all under $20 from 11:30am to 3pm Gyoza was absolutely delicious paired with a thick sauce that was cold. Takiyaki was creamy. Udon Tempura was slightly spicy and had a fishy flavor, large seaweed pieces. Nabeyaki Udon was the best out of the two with shrimp tempura and soft boiled egg Short ribs were chewy and had a lot of fat on it, but was charred nicely. Sashimi we ordered: Rice was slightly hard, but the rice to fish ratio was good the fish pieces were thick and fresh. -White Tuna w/ Ponzu (this was the favorite thick chunks with no rice was a must have). -Peppered Seared Tuna (no rice, large slabs of Tuna nicely seared; delicious) -Unagi (Eel) was seared -Garlic Tuna large slabs of tuna on a small ball of hard rice. Rolls we ordered: Dancing Eel was a huge roll with spicy tuna and seared ell with shrimp tempura in the inside was very good Energy Roll was a warm roll deep fried that wasn't very great Dragon Roll was decent put also was in the warm side Service was good, in between ordering there was a long brake which was nice so we didn't eat fast. Overall, everything was great!!
This is one of our favorite all you can eat restaurants. Ayce is $35/person. They do have an al la carte menu with ramen, katsu, teriyaki, ect. The fish is fresh, the rolls are huge, and they have many sides that aren't fish related. The pieces of fish on the nigiri are huge! I had to bite them in half just to get them in my mouth. Same with the rolls. I honestly scraped some of the spicy tuna out of the middle of my rolls; 1 because it was too big to get in my mouth, 2 it was too much spicy tuna. It overpowered the other ingredients. There is plenty of parking and so far I haven't had to make a reservation. They do have some happy hour drink specials if I'm not mistaken.
My husband doesn't love sushi so it's been a while since I got to partake in eating sushi at a sushi restaurant. So after I went to a beer tasting with my mother in law and sister in law, I asked if we could grab some! We decided to hit up Sushi Wa! The interior of this place is absolutely beautiful. We were greated as soon as we walked in and seated almost immediately. Not bad for a Saturday night! The last time I had all you can eat sushi, I was kind of sharing things with my sister. This time, like an idiot, I ordered all you can eat and ordered like 4 heavy rolls. WOW. Talk about a rookie mistake. I did end up eating more than half of the rolls and our server was kind enough to not charge me the extra, even though technically it is on their rules to do so. I can't remember everything I ordered but I really enjoyed every single roll. They had so many to select from! I really liked the lemon roll and the dragon roll. I would definitely order these two things again. Our server again totally killed it and checked on us numerous times to make sure we were well taken care of. I definitely recommend this sushi spot for a date night or even just a night out to dinner with friends! It's delicious and beautiful!
